Avaruuskorut

Muistatteko vielä ne kesällä tekemäni geelikorut? Olen jo pidempään suunnitellut jatkavani kokeiluja niiden kanssa, koska aatelkaa nyt, mitä kaikkia jänniä efektejä ja koristeita koruihin voisi tehdä. Tämä mielessä valitsin LadyQueenilta testiin kullanvärisiä soikiokoristeita.



Otin kynsien teemaksi avaruuden. Lakoiksi valitsin O.P.I:n nuden Don't Burst My Bubblen sekä Dollish Polishin Charming Starry Skyn, joka on täydellinen avaruuslakka. Olen aiemmin esitellyt sen Täällä.



"Kultakehykset" olivat mielestäni juuri sopivan kokoisia. Ne olivat yllättävän hentoja, joten ne oli helppo taivuttaa kynnen muotoon, mutta toisaalta sai olla varovainen, ettei ruttaa niitä (kuten minä ensin). Kiinnitin kehykset päällyslakalla ja levitin niiden sisäpuolelle varovasti haluamiani lakkoja ja annoin niiden kuivua. Kiinnitin tähtipaljetit ja maalasin akryylimaalilla pieniä tähtiä korujen sisään sekä myös muille kynsille. Kasasin korujen päälle paksusti geeliä tuomaan kolmiulotteisuutta. Soikion sisällä olevat koristeet on toki veikeä yksityiskohta myös ilman geeliä. Vapaata tilaa oli vielä jäljellä, joten lisäsin myös vähän niittejä.

Ihan kivat kynnet näistä mielestäni tuli. Mulla on nyt taas joku ihme kausi, kun tähdet ja nudelakat viehättää erityisen paljon. Mitäs te tykkäätte kynsistä?

Do you still remember the liquid stone accessories I made in summer? I've been wanting to experiment with the technique even more and finally I had the time to do it. I got the chance to pick some nail art items from LadyQueen for review and when I saw these golden metal accessories I immediately wanted to try them with liquid stones.

I decided to make some simple space nails. I used O.P.I's nude Don't Burst My Bubble and Dollish Polish's Charming Starry Sky which is a perfect space nail polish. I've written about it Here.

The gold metal frames were just the right size for my taste. They were surprisingly delicate so they were really easy to bend on the nail but you also had to be careful not to twist them out of shape. I attached the frames with top coat and carefully applied black and glitter nail polish in the middle. I let the polish dry and added some star sequins and star paintings inside the frames and also on other nails. Finally, I applied a drop of clear gel over the frames to give them that stonelike look. The decoration was nice even without gel so you don't necessary need to make it 3D if you don't want to. The nails were still looking a bit empty so I also added a few rivets.

I liked the nails. It's always exciting to try new techniques and looks. I'm also going through a phase where I just want to wear nude polish and stars with everything.

Puolineliömanikyyri nestemäisillä kivillä

Ei mitään haisua, millä termeillä näitä kynsiä kuuluisi kuvailla. Kuvat puhukoon puolestaan. En yhtään keksinyt minkälaiset kynnet tekisin ja tällaista siitä sitten syntyi, kun yksi ideanpoikanen johti toiseen.

Päädyin kokeilemaan liquid stonejen tekemistä. Lyhyesti sanottuna lakkasin kynnelle läntin sinistä kimallelakkaa ja siihen päälle kasasin geeliä, jotta sain aikaan 3D-koristeen. Kovetin geelin normaalisti uunissa, poistin tahmakerroksen, muotoilin "kiveä" varovasti viilalla ja laitoin normaalisti mikrohelmet ja päällyslakan. En tiedä, teinkö kaiken oikeaoppisesti, mutta lopputulos oli ainakin onnistunut ja koristeet pysyi kynsillä yli viikon kunnes itse revin ne irti.

Kokeilin tehdä näitä geelikiviä myös swatch-tikuille hyvällä menestyksellä. Irrotin kivet pinseteillä ja laitoin talteen myöhempää käyttöä varten. Hilelakan sivelin vasta lopuksi tikulta irrotetun kiven pohjaan, mutta varmaan voi tehdä useammallakin tavalla.

Kynsillä mulla on Color Clubin Who Are You Wearing ja H&M:n Something Blue. Who Are You Wearing on ruskeanharmaan nude creme. Se oli vähän ohut ja levittyi jokseenkin epätasaisesti ja peitti kolmella kerroksella. Something Blue taas oli kuin unelma. Se levittyi täydellisen pehmeästi ja peitti kahdella, melkein yhdellä, kerroksella.

Osaan kynsistä tein vielä kolmion mallisen puoli... neliömanikyyrin. Käytin teippiä apuna ja valkoista lakkaa pohjalla. Tykkäsin kovasti näiden kynsien tyyli- ja väriyhdistelmästä. Ihan hyvä välillä vaan tehdä jotain sen kummempia miettimättä ja katsoa, mitä siitä kehittyy.

Usually I plan my nails carefully before starting but this time I wasn't quite sure what I wanted. Weird, considering I have like five pages full of nail art ideas in my scetch book. One idea lead to another and these nails were created.

I ended up trying liquid stones. Basically what I did was paint a diamond shaped area on my nail with blue glitter polish and piling a generous amount of gel over it to create a 3D "stone". I cured the gel under UV-light, removed the sticky layer and shaped the "stone" gently with a file and then added some microbeads and top coat. I have no idea if this is how you are supposed to make the liquid stones but this did work great for me and the stones sticked well to my natural nails.

I also made some stones on swatch sticks and removed them with tweezers to use them later. I applied the glitterpolish on the back of the stones after removing them from the swatch sticks but it may not be the only way. I don't know, I have to experiment more with this technique.

I'm wearing H&M's Something Blue And Color Club's Who Are You Wearing on my nails. Who Are You Wearing is a brownish gray nude polish. It was a bit sheer and applied somewhat unevenly but nothing terrible. I needed three coats for full opacity. Something Blue is a dark blue creme. The formula was pure perfection. It applied smoothly and was opaque in two, almost one, coats.

I made a triangle-shaped half... squaremanicure on some of the nails. I used tape to get the lines straight and used white polish as a base colour for the triangles. I like the style and colour combination this manicure had. Sometimes it's good to just do whatever comes to mind and see what happens.
